Call for Papers

Arte-Polis 8 invites original high-quality papers presenting current issues, best practices, and research designs, accommodating a broad spectrum of approaches ranging from speculative, informal investigations to conventional scientific research, including but not limited to the following topics:

1. Humanizing Creative Design Process in the Digital Era

  • Human-centered Creative Design Process

  • Human Values and Creative Design Process

  • Epistemology of Creative Behavior and Artificial Intelligence

2. Design and Production of Space in the Digital Era

  • Collaborative and Collective Design Methods of Digital Natives

  • Computational, Generative, Evolutionary Techniques in Creative Design and Making

  • Design Cognition vs Machine Intelligence

  • X-reality, Artificial Space and Environment in Simulating Experiences

3. Urban Creativity and the Place-Making in the Digital Era

  • Human and Climate Sensitivities in Data-driven Spatial and City Modeling

  • Contextualizing Social and Cultural Dynamics into Creative Planning and Design Processes

  • Informed Design and Decision Support System

Paper

Paper acceptance will undergo a two-stage reviewing process, consisting of an initial abstract review and a later double-blind peer review of full-length manuscripts. Paper publication will be subject to review acceptance, to compliance with submission deadlines and formatting guidelines, and to payment of the conference registration fee. Please kindly note that if multiple papers  are accepted for presentation,  each paper requires a separate registration fee.

Abstract

Abstracts will be subject to an initial review – one page length max. 300 words plus key references. Language: English. See Important Dates.

Full Paper

Full papers will be subject to a double-blind peer review of full-length manuscripts and should be between 7000-8000 words in length (including tables, figures and references).

Submission details, style and format are listed at the Submission page:  (to be announced). Publication of the paper will be subject to review acceptance, to compliance with submission deadlines and formatting guidelines, and to the payment of the conference registration fee. The conference must be attended in person. See Important Dates.

Guidelines

  • Abstract Guideline

    • An abstract of max. 300 words with 3-4 keywords must contain backgrounds, aims, methods, and expected results.

    • There is no limit of abstract numbers that an author may submit, but only two papers at maximum per author are admitted for presentation and publication.

    • Abstract submission is free of charge.

    • Only  abstracts received by the submission deadline will be considered. This is to ensure that the proposed paper is relevant to the Conference.

    • Each article must be written in English.
